Xbox 360: Mass Effect pt.2

Today in mass effect I got 2 achievments. These were Search and Rescue for 10G and Medal of Heroism for 25G.

So after getting into the mine shaft I mentioned in the last post and talking to the woman trapped in a blue forcefield I had to get her out, I killed some enemies and found a big laser which I had to put in a code to use it. I had to use the A, B, X, and Y to use it so instead of looking for a code I said I'd do it by process of elimination, took less than a minute, I think the code was XAYB it tells you each time you press a key if its right..

The laser shot through the ground so I was able to get under the forcefield and around. I got her out and found out her name was Liara and that her mother had joined Saren. She told me that there was some sort of extinction cycle. We went up an elevator and once we got up had to do a boss type battle.. I got outside the mining facility and the mission was done. (this is where I got the Search and Rescue achievment worth 10G) Then Liara joined my crew.

I got back on the ship and had a talk with the Citadel. Then I had to pick between two missions, "Geth Attack" and "Geth Interest". I picked Geth attack thinking it would be short but wow was I wrong, took forever. The driving shooting bit was fun though.

The entire level was like a maze I cant even describe what went on.. but let me leave you with one tip. After you have killed the thorian and you have to get back to the woman that stayed back, remember.. the doors are now open and when you're in the room ith 3 doors, there's only one.. look for the big gap in the room you can walk through it and find a different door.

Just after killing the Thorian thing this woman Shiala appeared out of it and enhanced my visions I got, the same ones Saren has. Oh and Saren can almost control minds now. There's new enemies call Creepers which are annoying, they just run up to you and like puke on you which gives you poison damage.

Well, after escaping and getting out of there I got given the achievment "Medal of Heroism" for 25G I've nearly broken 8,000 now...

I might be making this game shorter than a week because it's supposed to be VERY long and I'd rather review a different game, this one's getting better and everything but I'd like to blog about a different one. My possible choices are Afro Samurai, Lost Planet, Call of Duty 4 and Left 4 Dead.

Xbox 360: Mass Effect pt.1

This week's game is Mass Effect for the Xbox360. Mass Effect, if you do not now is a space based RPG played in the 3rd person. you get to control your own ship and visit various different planets, thats really all I can say at the moment as I'm not too far into it. Its not the type of RPG where fighting is taken in turns, there's guns and you have to use the right trigger to shoot

Well I was told to look on Artemis Tau, so that's exactly what I did, except Artemis Tau isn't all that small. So I was looking for ages and found all these barren planets which yielded nothing until I came across this one that had buildings for the picture, Therum, I thought it would be best to pick that one.

The planet was like a continuous "S" shape up until a mine entrance which was good news because I was looking for an archaeologist. First question I asked myself when I landed on the planet was "hmmm.. I wonder what happens when I drive on the lava" by the way don't drive on the lava, instant mission failure. You get the "Critical Mission Failure" pop up.

Another note it's a good idea to save as often as possible. The enemies are strong and will kill you fairly fast when you're not in cover. and even when your in cover the strong attacks can really pack a punch, I mean really if you win a fight save the game, and if you think that a fight is about to come up save the game so you don't have to do as much work.

There was this boss type battle before I entered the mine which was really annoying because the boss type monster (I forgot to take its name) killed me the first time (in one shot). and at the start of the battle there was like a few snipers which were taken care of quickly by my teammates.

I went down the mine shaft and had to go down an elevator... Elevators in Mass Effect = slow = boring. Killed off a few more enemies down into another elevator and found a girl called Liara trapped in between a barrier. Had to turn off my Xbox at this point but I'll be playing it again tomorrow and posting my progress.

The game is supposed to get better as it goes on and it's not too bad right now.. We'll see
